This week kicked off the use of a controversial new “body image “scanner at Tulsa International Airport.

The new scanner is designed to look through clothing in search of non-metallic weapons & explosives.

Sounds like a great step towards tighter security measures at the airport… butt …(intentional pun)

there is some controversy! When you pass through this scanner, the shape of your body is no longer a secret!

Government officials claim that your image is stored only long enough for a TSA employee to scan the image, then it’s deleted.

They promise it would never end up on the internet… ??? They also promise that your face will be

blurred in the image. They even go as far as saying , “You are not exposed as much as you think”.

Do you believe all that? Hmmm?? Take another look at that picture above. I’m not so sure.

I’m all for tighter security, but I don’t know about trusting some of these promises.

The scanners are expensive… 170k vs. 10k for a metal detector. They seem to be working very well so far.

Butt… do you want the outline of your body exposed to the whole world (OK, maybe just the TSA)?

Muffin tops, hidden bulges, pot bellies, “pooches”, etc. will be revealed like never before…

But your flight would probably be a lot safer, as well!

What do you think?

Would you trade “exposure” for tighter security?

Be safe!
