Went to an ice hockey game this week. I had a great time but I couldn’t help but

wonder about the “security factor” of the game as I was leaving the building.

Take a look at this video real quick…it’s only 40 seconds long. I’ll wait.

Hockey Fight

WOW… that was brutal, wasn’t it? Well… at the game tonight, the fight that broke

out was 10 times worse! It wasn’t a two-player fight… it was an all out ME-LEE! Here’s a quick definition of ME-LEE:

me⋅lee [mey-ley, mey-ley, mel-ey] –noun

1.

a confused hand-to-hand fight or struggle among several people

Broken sticks… bloody noses… missing teeth… and flying helmets!

So, after watching this drag on for a while, I thought to myself, “Who’s really protecting who?”

Think about it…

All the fans were screened before entering the building… but what about the players on the ice?

Who’s protecting the guy who was getting thumped in the face and body-slammed on the ice?

The referees sure weren’t concerned about it. Oh… and the fans went absolutely crazy!

It seems that a good hockey game is judged first by the amount of fights… and second, by the amount of goals.

I guess that’s what we’re accustomed to, right? That’s hockey tradition.

(Maybe this is where Sarah Palin learned how to take on the opposition?)

I don’t think we’ll see any “Hockey Security” on the ice any time soon…

But I’m sure we’ll still get screened at the front door before coming inside.

What’s your opinion on this one? I ‘d like to hear from some of you…

What’s more exciting? = lots of fights??… or…lots of goals??

Be safe!
