I spent the past few days with some special men.
Real American Heroes!
Men responsible for protecting and preserving our freedom.
Men full of courage, honor, bravery, and duty to their country.
Men who have paved the way for future generations.
Who am I talking about, you ask?
I’m describing the distinguished Medal of Honor Recipients.

Read more about them at this website: www.medalofhonor.com

These guys are the real deal! And we can’t ever forget about them or what they did for our country.

There are only 98 living recipients today. Many of them (those that are healthy enough) travel around the country raising money for scholarships and local charities. They unselfishly give their time and energy helping others.

I’d never minimize the ability of our modern day troops in any way but these guys fought a different kind of war back then. Wars where battlegrounds were taken and conquered literally foot by foot… inch by inch. Today’s technology is so much more sophisticated. Air strikes, drones, and remote controlled bombers are just a few things that come to mind. (Or course, we’re fighting a different enemy today)

When you read this post, or you’re printing out a family photo…just remember that the Medal of Honor Recipients, our Veterans, and our active troops in the Armed Forces are the reason we can freely do these things in the protection and comfort of our homes.

I don’t know about you, but it’s a pretty good feeling to me.

God Bless America!
