Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, friends, and co-workers of three Pittsburgh Police Officers killed in the line of duty today.

The gunman was reported to be “lying in wait” as the Officers responded to a domestic disturbance.

Sounds accurate considering the fact he was wearing a bullet-proof vest and shot two of the Officers in the head. The gunman survived return fire and was taken into custody with a wounded leg.

The reason he provided for the killings?

The suspect feared “the Obama gun ban that’s on the way” and “didn’t like his rights being infringed upon,” said Edward Perkovic, his best friend.

Doesn’t seem fair…does it?

This tragedy comes only 2 weeks after 4 Oakland Police Officers were killed by a lone gunman.

That’s just way too many officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in a 15 day span.

As a reminder, there are over 19,000 men & women who have died in the line of duty protecting the streets of America. Read more about them here.

Think about that number for a minute………………… 19,000! WOW!

We should always remember how much courage and bravery it takes to perform their job on a daily basis.

Take a minute to thank a member of Law Enforcement when you have a chance this week or in the near future.

They deserve some positive recognition!

Be safe!
