Top 5 Tips To Protect Yourself From An Alligator Attack

What if an alligator just showed up at your front door on your vacation?alligator-at-door-main_full

Can you imagine???

(Don’t worry… class is in session!)

I was visiting with some friends yesterday who just returned from Florida. The topic of “Alligators & Crocodiles” came up.

Since my girls really want to visit DisneyWorld someday soon, I began thinking about how I would defend them/us from an unexpected attack by one of these giant water lizards.

And since this blog is about safety, security, & protection… I wanted to share my findings with my readers.

Here’s what a certified “alligator safety” expert has to say about being prepared… vs. being consumed:

First, you must understand why alligators are so angry. If you liked the movie, WATERBOY… the answer was simply explained,

“They got all them teeth, and no toothbrush!” :)

A few things you’ll need to prepare:

Tip # 1 – If you see an alligator approaching on dry land… run!! (Chances are good you’ll be ok.)

Tip # 2 – If you’re out of the water, climb on top of the gator’s back. (I hope you took wrestling in high school?)

Tip # 3 – Push both of your thumbs into the eye sockets of the alligator!

Tip # 4 – Push the head, neck & mouth into the ground while maintaining your balance. (easy, right?)

Tip # 5 – If all else fails, pray & scream for Crocodile Dundee!

Class dismissed!
